Club News, Event Reports

In case you missed it Julie went to Belgium to race last weekend- heres a write up.

6 of us went out to Potterne Park for the summer series on Saturday in a field of about 50. Wessex Score course was odds and evens so that all important sequencing played a big part and top performer in the Night League Dan Gallagher came up first. Thanks for putting that on WIM.

Our runners Penny and Laura went up to the Lakes to do the Saunders Lakeland Mountain Marathon again with friends, a perfect weekend for it. Saturday they made a good 52nd out of 115 pairs– nice work!  This event has two days where you camp and leave your kit, so its super enjoyable days on the fells- I did it over ten years ago, slightly jealous of Nicola this weekend when Ive been working again, Howgill fells are an area I did lots of remote supervision for DoE groups back in 2004/5/6/ when working on my Walking Group Leader Qualifications, they arent as severe hills as over the western side of M6 but with local centres like Sedburgh and easy heights they do have some beautiful terrain. Final pairs results on the Wansfell class show them at 60/ 121 teams so top half,  nice hillrunning ladies.

Ive been busy all week teaching and have another packed week ahead with Mountain bike leads in Moors Valley,  new work for St Ives School then a Safer Urban Driving course for Lorry Drivers on Saturday- looking forward to the sunday relay- the first one I will have been able to take part in.

Also Sunday just gone Moonraker Relays were held by SARUM in the Warminster Garrison – SARUM event in the summer relays series. A mixture of park and urban O inside the barracks , with beginners courses too.9 teams competed and QUOC seem to have done the best there for a change. WSX didnt put a team in but we look to be ahead on the Relays season again so last couple of these should cement us taking the trophy again.

Sorry no pics today- if you send me some I always include them.

Tonight its trail running tuesday again.
